Our office will be closed in observance of Memorial Day on Monday May 25,2015
We can honor the people who made the ultimate sacrifice by remembering them, appreciating our freedoms and by supporting our veterans. This weekend and on Monday we salute our veterans: Past, present, old, and young. Each and every one of them answered the call to defend freedom at all costs to benefit something larger than themselves. From Johnny D. Crain Jr. and his staff THANK YOU for making the ultimate sacrifice and putting your life on hold to protect ours.
Memorial Day, an American holiday observed on the last Monday of May, honors men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades. Unofficially, at least, it marks the beginning of summer.
